Story

I’m not just a survivor, I’m a warrior.

For over 17 years, I've been fighting a battle with mental illness, a struggle that's becoming all too common for people of all ages. Many have seen my bright side, but few know the strength it takes to keep fighting every day. Would you ever guess that I see a psychiatrist on monthly basis, take multiple medications daily, and endure the side effects? But I’m confident that I’m on the right path. I seek help and support when I need it, and that allows me to keep up with work and life.

Sadly, the stigma surrounding mental health is still pervasive, stopping many from getting the help they need. Through my journey, I’ve realized the critical importance of supporting one another. To those who are struggling, I hope you read this - if you ever need someone to listen, I’m here for you, I'm more than happy to share my experience. Don’t be afraid, and don’t let the stigma win. It’s 2024 - it's time for people to truly understand mental health, to be more aware, and to stop the discrimination.

This year, once again, I’m participating in the Walk for Awareness and fundraising for the Mental Awareness Foundation. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps fund life-saving counseling sessions and makes a real impact. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.

I also hope you’ll consider joining the walk on Sunday, October 6th. Your support and involvement mean the world to me, and I appreciate it more than words can express. Thank you, family and friends! ❤
